About Drover

What is Drover?

Drover is building Australia’s end-to-end freight platform for shippers and carriers. Most of the tools the industry runs on are still stuck in phone calls, spreadsheets and systems that don’t talk to each other. That’s what Drover is building to fix. Australian-owned, we’re launching nationwide in 2026, starting with payments.

When does it launch?

We're launching Drover in 2026. Join the waitlist for early access: both carriers and shippers who join lock in early access pricing, carriers on every client they invoice and shippers on every carrier they pay.

Where does Drover operate?

Australia-wide, every state and territory, metro to remote.

For carriers, we’re built for owner-operators, small fleets and national operators. Whatever you haul, from pallets, general freight, machinery, vehicles, livestock, refrigerated goods, hay and grain, oversize, dangerous goods, hotshot, tipper, crane or mining equipment, Drover is for your patch.

For shippers, Drover covers businesses, farms, manufacturers, miners, dealers and private customers who need freight moved, from one-off car or boat deliveries to regular linehaul and heavy haulage.

Payments & Pricing

How do payments work on Drover?

The carrier invoices shippers they’re already hauling for at the agreed rate, and the job is funded before freight moves. The shipper’s payment is secured on the platform up front, so on every load the carrier knows the money is there before they roll, instead of sending an invoice and hoping it gets paid.

When the job’s done, the carrier is paid straight to their bank account the day they deliver, even on weekends, where your bank supports instant payments. Shippers can still choose to pay upfront or on terms, so cash flow works for both sides of the load. Shipper funding on terms is subject to credit checks and approval.

Both sides are protected: funds are held securely, so carriers aren’t left out of pocket for a futile pickup or cancelled load and shippers are covered for issues like a late delivery, all settled through fair, built-in dispute resolution with optional transit insurance on top.

How fast do carriers get paid?

Same day. When you get paid through Drover, payment lands in your bank account within seconds of delivery, even on weekends, where your bank supports instant payments. No waiting 2 to 3 days for bank processing, and no chasing shippers on 30, 60 or 90-day terms.

Can shippers pay on terms?

Yes. Through Drover, shippers can pay on flexible terms of 30, 60 or 90 days for a small financing fee on top of the 2.5% platform fee, funded by a licensed finance partner, so your working capital stays free.

The carrier is still paid the day they deliver, where your bank supports instant payments. Shipper funding on terms is subject to credit checks and approval.

How much does Drover charge?

When a load is booked and paid securely through Drover, the platform charges 2.5% + GST (or A$5 + GST, whichever is greater) per load. Shippers who choose to pay on terms add a small financing fee on top.

Join the waitlist to lock in early access pricing of just 1.25% + GST (or A$5 + GST, whichever is greater) per load for the first 6 months after launch. Both carriers and shippers who join get the lower rate, carriers on every client they invoice and shippers on every carrier they pay.

The platform fee is calculated on the ex-GST amount of your quote (e.g. if your quote is A$5,000 ex GST, the fee is based on A$5,000, not A$5,500).

No. It’s free to join for both shippers and carriers, with no subscription, setup fee or lock-in. The platform fee is only added when freight is booked and paid for through Drover.

Trust & Safety

Is my freight insured, and what if something goes wrong?

If something goes wrong, funds are held securely and disputes are resolved fairly through Drover: issues like a futile pickup, a cancelled load or a late delivery are settled with fair, built-in dispute resolution.

For additional cover, shippers are able to purchase single-transit insurance per load, arranged upfront so both sides know where they stand before freight moves. If freight is lost or damaged and the load is covered by transit insurance, that claim is handled through the cover, so issues get sorted without the usual months of phone tag between the shipper, the carrier and an insurer.

Are carriers on Drover verified?

Yes. From launch, every carrier goes through business, compliance and insurance checks before they can get paid for freight. For shippers, that means your money only ever goes to a legitimate, verified operator.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your data is handled securely and never sold. See our privacy policy for more.
